What does the DESMADRES Congress consist of?
The Desmadres Congress seeks to generate a space of encounter, discussion and participation to reflect on Latin American literature of the 21st century in an academic environment, although crossed by other discourses and more unstructured and playful dynamics.
When and where does the congress take place?
The congress will be held during the days of DESMADRES, FESTIVAL OF LATIN AMERICAN LITERATURA (August 16-23, 2023) in three different venues: Mariano Moreno National Library (Agüero 2502) National University of San Martín (Volta building, Roque Sáenz Peña 832) and National University of Arts (Bartolomé Mitre 1869).
Who can participate?
Scholars, professors, students, writers and translators who wish to present papers on Latin American literature produced in the 21st century. Institutional affiliation is not required.
Is the topic free or must it follow any particular guidelines?
The topics of interest for the presentation of papers will be: territory, gender, violence, culture and nature, Amerindian cultures and alternative knowledge, migration, publications, writings, literature and non-fiction, archive, other languages, translation, literature and social sciences.
When is the deadline for submitting a proposal?
Until July 6th, 2023, inclusive.
